Firstly, the surprise you get when opening up a ‘Knit in a Box’. Not knowing what’s in there, apart from some beautiful yarn and 2 or 3 patterns does what is says on the box - ‘Happiness Inside’. My initial reaction to August’s box was an involuntary expression of delight and excitement when I saw the soft yarn in such a gentle colour. In addition, the sweets and gift are an added bonus. It was hard not to drop the item I was knitting in order to begin using this yarn immediately. But I restrained myself! (In between knitting garments I knit blankets to give to charities).

My First Ladies box. I was taken aback by the amount of yarn. Plenty of yarn to make the larger sizes.
I love green, but have never knitted it for myself so that was a bonus. The yarn knits nicely and will hang nicely when it’s finished. Only one more sleeve to go. The treats were a nice surprise and the sweeties were gone very quickly!
It is great fun to get a surprise to knit every month and I am really pleased with this months surprise!

I've not started it yet, I empty the box and look at the lovely yarn which is a rich dark red, and the pattern, the buttons, the chocolate and the lovely box of pins and it makes me feel special like a present picked out for me even though I have paid for it. I will start it soon and am really looking forward to it. The reason I haven't started it yet, apart from working on other projects yet, is that the novelty hasn't worn off yet so each time I open it, it is new.
