Oh its here again! My postie just delivered my  ‘Knit in a Box’ subscriptions and he dropped them off before he actually delivered anything to the rest of the village – yep he is good.

So after putting the kettle on and making myself a cup of tea to build up the suspense I settled down to unveil my projects for this month.   Opening the box is always one of the things I enjoy most thanks to the thoughtful packaging inside.  You never know what you are going to find, what yarn or pattern, even what little thoughtful touches have been added by Katy at ‘Knit in a Box’.

As I gently pull the ribbon off the pink tissue paper I find three 100g of Hayfield Sundance double knitting in shade 504 which is Aqua Mist.   This yarn is 50% cotton and 50% Acrylic and is washable at 40 degrees. This yarn comes in eight different shades and is a lovely yarn for lightweight knits.  Aqua Mist is a lovely shade of green.

Inside the tissue paper wrapping I found a pink and white polka dot bag that is sealed with a ‘Knit in Box’ sticker.  Inside is a mini packet of Love Heart sweets inside it along with a plastic needle to sew up my project and a “Knitted with Love” label to sew into the project when finished,  I also found two love heart hair clips.    I also found a precious letter from Lily, who is Katy’s young daughter. This letter is about her new hamster called Honey and is a fantastic way to get her daughter writing for a purpose (a big things in schools),  I can only say well done to Lily for doing this and for Katy for allowing her daughter to include it with everyone’s box.

I then pulled everything out of the box to find out what I was going to be knitting this month and I found Stylecraft pattern 9399.  This is a dress, and tunic pattern for girl’s age 2-11 years.   This pattern comes in two different designs and has some lovely cable work.  I am really looking forward to this project for my niece and  think it will be look lovely in the shade supplied.
