As you probably know by now I love getting parcels and especially love it when my ‘Knit in a Box’ is due to arrive and today was no exception. I saw the post van arrive in the village and had to hold in my scream when he stopped outside the door.
So let’s get to this months box. Inside the box I noticed the contents postcard which I kind of like – yes I know that sounds strange but I like the fact that I know I have everything that is meant to be in the box but I somehow feel as if a bit of the surprise is gone as when I open the tissue paper I already have an idea of what will be there. Ok I don’t know what the yarn will be like or the pattern so that excitement is still there.
Back to my grand box opening. I like to take my time and savour each months box so after carefully untying the ribbon I carefully pulled the tissue paper open trying not to tear it too badly. Inside I found three 100g balls of James C. Brett Supreme Soft and Gentle Baby DK in a shade called SNG5 or baby blue to me and you. This yarn is supersoft and is 70% acrylic and 30% polyamide. This makes it hard wearing, it is also machine washable. I love how soft this yarn is.
The pattern this month is James C. Brett pattern number JB484 for a sweater, cardigan and slipover or tank top. The pattern has some cabling on all three items, no having looked at the pattern the two cable needles that I found in the box make perfect sense. I also found a little blue drawstring back with the perfect shade of buttons to match the yarn – perfect again ‘Knit in a Box’.
Also within the box I found the little pack of ‘Love Heart’ sweets from Swizzles, which I love getting in the box and a lovely note from Lily. I think it is great the little notes that Lily includes in our boxes and I know it must be exciting for her to write them knowing that we will be reading them. Well-done Lily.
This is a lovely box again this month and although I have no little boys to knit for this pattern and yarn are both calling to me so I am going to make a set in the first size, which is the newborn size, to gift to a nearby maternity ward.
