A new month means my Knit in a Box arrives – yippee. If you already subscribe to ‘Knit in a Box’ then I am sure you will agree that it feels like Christmas arrives each month, if you don’t already subscribe then what are you waiting for?

My babies box this month is wrapped in a lovely white polka dot tissue paper wrapped in a pretty black ribbon. Please keep your tissue paper and ribbon to wrap up your knitting before you gift it – if you are gifting it, if not then keep it for other presents. Opening up the tissue paper I found three 100g balls of Stylecraft bambino double knitting in shade 7111 which is white. Oh wait - was the tissue paper a hint at the colour inside? Bambino double knitting is 100% acrylic and machine washable at 30 degrees. It is a lightweight yarn that is smooth and brilliant for baby clothes and baby blankets.

For those of you that don’t know Stylecraft started in the late 1980s and all the yarns come from their own mill in West Yorkshire. Yes that was the history or trivia part for you this month.

Also inside the box I found the little love heart sweets that have become a monthly favourite thanks to Knit in a Box. I also found a packet of needle protectors – I can never have too many of these for all the WIPs (work in progress) that I have on the go. I also found a ‘Knitted with Love’ label to sew into item when it is finished and a small white drawstring bag containing four toggle type buttons – interesting!
Once I emptied out the yarn and the gifts I found a letter from Katy’s daughter Lily. Lily had written about her new Hamster called Honey. This immediately brought back memories of my first hamster who was also called Honey, but I am going back many years! It was a lovely letter for Lily to share with the Knit in a box family – thank you Lily.
At the bottom of the box I found Stylecraft pattern 9502. This pattern is for two different ‘coats’ with hoods – one plain and one striped. The pattern is for birth to 3 years old. This is a lovely pattern and is knitted in garter stitch throughout so may be a quick knit.
